Supported Independent Living, or SIL, is help or supervision with daily life at home for people with higher support needs. It can include support throughout the day and overnight, while helping you build skills and live as independently as possible.
SIL is the support you receive, rather than the house itself. Your support arrangements depend on your assessed needs and NDIS funding.
What support can include
- Personal care, showering and getting dressed.
- Preparing meals and managing household tasks.
- Establishing daily routines and practising everyday skills.
- Support or supervision overnight, based on your needs.
- Making choices about daily life in your home.
Planning your support
We talk with you about what you need help with, what you would like to do more independently and how you want to be supported. If you are considering a shared home, we also discuss the other residents, household routines and how support will be shared.
Understanding costs
SIL funding pays for eligible support and supervision. It does not pay for rent, groceries, utilities or other everyday living expenses. We explain your proposed support arrangements and any separate living costs before you agree to proceed.

Submit a referral directly to our intake team. We review NDIS plans and arrange compatibility meetings within 48 hours.
